About Julie Grant
Julie started recording right away and her third record " Up On The Roof", a cover of "The Drifters" American hit
,went into the top twenty. This led to extensive touring with many stars of the time including "The Beatles", " Rolling
Stones", " Animals", "Searchers" and " The Yardbirds". As well as touring, Julie also appeared on the major TV and
Radio shows of that period, including "Thank Your Lucky Stars", "Top of The Pops" and "Ready Steady Go". Her
recording contract with Pye continued through 1967, where she had fifteen singles released, 5 which made the top
twenty.
After her tenure with Pye records, she saw an opportunity that would eventually bring her to the lucrative North
American market. Upon an introduction by her manager, she left England and joined a Spanish group by the name
of " The Zaras", which was touring the USO in Europe. In early 1969 the group came to the U.S.A. where after an
audition at The "Royal Box" In NY City, they were signed to a long term contract with the Americana and Sahara
Hotels. For the next six years Julie fronted the group as the female lead throughout the USA, Canada and the
Caribbean.
During that time she made her home in Las Vegas, eventually leaving the group in 1975. It was at the end of that
period while perfoming in Toronto, she first met her future husband David Connelly, who was touring as Road
Manager for "The Carpenters". She then moved back East with her Daughter, where she again met up with David
who became her new personal Manager. Together they formed a group to back her up and then toured
exstensively, playing all the popular Resorts and Casino's in the USA and the Caribbean.
In 1985 David signed Julie to Estate records, a label owned by Grammy winning producer Paul Leka ("Green
Tambourine", "Hey Na Na Na""Summer of 42") and distributed by Sony. She recorded several records with Paul
while still touring, but never attained the desired success intended.
In 1993 she was given a year long contract by Costa Cruise Lines to perform with her own revue throughout
Europe and the Caribbean, finally retiring from performing in 1994. At the behest of her good friend, who was the
Entertainment Director for the newly opened "Mohegan Sun Casino" in Connecticut, she became an agent.
In 1995, together with David they formed David Connelly Productions Inc. As well as many other accomplishments,
the company signed to management the Boston based band "Fat Bag", who went on win "The Boston Music Awards"
twice, and were signed to a major recording contract with Stepsun/Interscope Records.
Many of the acts that Julie books into the Mohegan Sun Casino regularly, are friends and touring companions of
hers from the 60s. These include such acts as the "The Troggs", "Searchers", "Hollies", "Manfred's, "Eric Burdon"
and "Spencer Davis" to name a few. She also takes pride in having among their clients, Foxwoods Casino in Ct,
Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, Boyd Gaming properties in Las Vegas as well as many other venues throughout the
U.S.A.
Since 2002 Julie has also been involved as a Celebrity Co-ordinator for the CIC/Pollstar Awards Show, helping the
Producers find the biggest and best talent to be presenters at the Show. This show in the past has been held at
such prestigious places as the Kodak Theatre, Universal Theatre, Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, the Mandalay
Bay in Las Vegas and in 2008 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Her music career has spanned many decades and now as another year moves on, she looks forward to the new
Venues and Artists that will come her way with just as much energy and excitement that she had when she first
started entertaining at the age of 4.

Julie Grant was born Vivien Foreman in Blackpool, England July 12th, 1946. At the
age of 16 months her family, including her older brother and sister, migrated to Cape
Town, South Africa looking for a new start. While there Julie, at the encouragement of
her siblings began her singing career at the early age of four, by entering a talent
contest. To everyones surprise she won the Grand Prize, which was the opportunity to
sing with a large orchestra at a concert in Cape Town. It turned out to be a big success
and they invited her to sing every weekend with them. This went on for about two years
and after brief stints in Johannesburg and Victoria Falls, her family moved back to
London.
Julie continued her music training attending the "Italia Conte" music conservatory, which
led to her appearing on stage at the Drury Lane Theatre in "The King and I"at age 9.
After being in London for a couple of years, they moved back to Leeds where her family
was originally from. Julie continued with dance classes, sang with a local orchestra on
weekends, as well as studying opera under famed teacher"Madame Stiles Allen", Julie
Andrews teacher.
At the age of 15, with many stage performances to her credit, she had the opportunity
to sing for Frankie Vaughan, who was a popular singer at that time. He introduced her
to his manager, Eric Easton ("Rolling Stones") who in turn signed her to his stable of
Artists. A short time later she and her family moved back to London where her new
Manager was based. After an successful audition Julie was signed to Pye Records with
Tony Hatch ("Petula Clark" and "The Searchers") as her Record Producer. At the
request of the record company her producer asked her to change her name, which was
a common practice at the time.. After much thought she decided on "Julie Grant" which
was taken from her fathers accountant's name, "Julian Grant"
